Bridging the Gaps Credit Recovery Program
Our mission is to empower at risk Rifle High School students by: providing recovery credit; fostering positive relationships; and facilitating community service and leadership projects.
Purpose
We believe knowledge is power and that every student is capable of learning. In lieu of traditional summer school which provides remedial credit through a classroom setting. Bridging the Gaps Summer Program strives to create better human beings. Our three primary goals for students are: to recover academic credit, to learn valuable leadership skills, and to develop a strong sense of community through service projects. By realizing these three goals students will inadvertently become familiar with the Rifle Public Library, improve their reading and writing skills, engage in manual work, learn to cook for themselves, work as a team, become friends with strangers and further fortify the positive culture of Rifle High School. Moreover, we believe the aforementioned will combine to have an overall positive impact the City of Rifle.
Schedule
Bridging the Gaps will meet for 12 consecutive days with in a two-week time period. The program will commence on Monday, June 18th and end on Friday, June 29th. The program will include a two-night overnight wilderness trip, beginning on the afternoon of Friday, June 22nd and returning home Sunday afternoon, June 24th.
